Darianne studied for her Bachelor of Laws in King’s College London and was called to the Singapore Bar in 2012. Since graduation, she has been training under the tutelage of Ong Sim Ho, then in the Tax and Private Client Services Team of Drew & Napier LLC, and now as an Associate Counsel at OSH.
Darianne is trained to take instructions from corporations and individuals on all areas of taxation, including both direct and indirect taxation, with a special emphasis on dispute resolution, enterprise tax risk management and tax audit and investigation work. Her experience also extends to oil and gas matters, such as joint venture arrangements and the sale and supply of oil products involving national oil and gas companies.
Some recent notable matters that Darianne is currently working on include advising and representing a wholly owned subsidiary of a large listed company on a multi-million dollar capital allowance claim and assisting the Asia Pacific Headquarters of a multinational company in the recovery of import goods and services tax paid in connection with an alleged fraud. She is also part of a team assisting corporations, including a national oil company, in the preparation and review of contemporaneous transfer pricing documentation.
Practice has taught Darianne that it pays to be an eternal optimist – that is to say, she spends what feels like an eternity of hours in the hopes of optimising what would appear to be the most dismal of cases.
